For those living with Fibromyalgia or FMS, daily chores can turn into mountains that they must cross. Doing simple things like washing the dishes or doing the laundry can be very painful and challenging to accomplish. It is very difficult to realize that you cannot do the simple things that you have been doing your whole life. This is one thing that makes the syndrome so troublesome to live with.

There are many different Fibromyalgia symptoms, and each one of them presents a new challenge to the individual with this condition. There is chronic pain, which is present most of the time. Some individuals experience breaks from the physical pain, but others live with it consistently. Chronic pain can lead to other symptoms such as depression and insomnia. Dealing with chronic pain can make it difficult to find hope in some situations.

Other symptoms might include, relentless fatigue, sleep disturbances, headaches, irritable bowel syndrome, morning stiffness, difficulty concentrating, depression and more. One of the most difficult symptoms to deal with is the fatigue. If you have Fibromyalgia or have spoken to someone with Fibromyalgia symptoms, you know about the feeling of always being exhausted. This can take a huge toll on an individual. It becomes hard to concentrate or accomplish daily tasks at work, at home and any other time.

There are different ways to deal with Fibromyalgia symptoms. One very important thing you can do is find some sort of support group. Being able to talk with others who are going through the same things or have gone through them is very important. It gives you inspiration to find a better quality of life as well as being able to form valuable friendships. There are many different types of support groups, and you may be able to find one in your hometown, online or rely on your family and friends for support.

You might also start a journal of your Fibromyalgia symptoms. When you write down what is bothering you along with what you did before the symptom started, you may be able to find what is triggering your symptoms. This can be very helpful as you learn what to avoid and what may be helping as well.

Another way to deal with the symptoms is to seek treatment. While many people are declining traditional medical help, there are many great holistic methods of treatment. Since there is no cure for this condition, most people treat the individual symptoms and learn effective coping skills to manage and improve their quality of life.

Holistic methods and coping skills might include herbal supplementation, vitamins and minerals, changes in diet, meditation, exercise, yoga, massage or acupuncture to name a few. Sometimes what works for one person may not work for another. You usually have to find something that will help with your own unique symptoms and situation. Symptoms don't have to rule your life, and there are many ways that you can find relief and live more fully, even with Fibromyalgia.
